In September 1991, Brian launched DeBusk Technologies Corporation, which later became known as DeRoyal Technologies. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of DeRoyal Industries in 1994. Three years later, he again was promoted, this time to the position of Chief Executive Officer of DeRoyal. In that same year, Brian obtained his MBA from Emory University in Atlanta, receiving the top academic award in his class. In November 1999, Brian's career took another major turn when DeRoyal Business Systems, which produced software for hospital OR systems, made a break from DeRoyal and became an independent company, now known as iPath. In addition, Brian currently serves as a core faculty member at the University of Tennessee School of Business and lectures on the strategic and operational roles of information systems. In 2002, iPath was acquired by GE Medical Systems.
