Bio:

Dr Glen Smith was born in Adelaide, attended The University of Adelaide and gained a Science degree with First Class Honours in Computer Science, Majoring in Pure Maths and Computer Science then a second Hons year (First Class Honours in Psychology), before doing a PhD on Mathematical Models of Decision Making under Prof Alan Welford. He gained a travel scholarship to Oxford University as part of his PhD work, running experiments on eye movements and mixed compatibility choice reaction times.

He has worked as a Senior Research Officer at the Australian Council for Educational Research, where he was in charge of selecting, purchasing and running their first in-house computers, and gained practical understanding of psychometrics, spent 10 years as an academic at Melbourne University, 10 years as a Reader at University of Queensland, and joined DSTO in 2001.
