Bio:

Dr. Andrew McCollough interests focus on the realm of visual cognition, specifically how attention and memory are allocated in distracting or crowded environments. He has published in a number of journals and magazines ranging from Nature to Scientific American Mind, and has lectured at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Pacific Northwest College of Art, the University of Oregon, and the Oregon Health & Science University. After a post-doctoral stint at OHSU, he left academia to co-found a software development and consulting company, InSilico LLC, in the Portland/Eugene area. He is currently applying his expertise to the development of tools that enable sense-making of big data and to the application of visual and cognitive heuristics in design and decision making.
