Bio:

Walter H. Ehrenstein is a neuroscientist at the Leibniz Research Center for Working Environment and Human Factors at Dortmund University, Germany since 1985. He had additional appointments as adjunct professor at the universities of Bielefeld, Düsseldorf, and Wuppertal. Before receiving tenure he held positions in psychophysics and neuropsychology at the universities of Freiburg and Constance, after a post-doc year at the Neuroscience Department of the University of California at San Diego and receiving his Ph.D. from Göttingen University in 1977 (Psychophysics of direction-specific aftereffects of auditory motion perception). Ehrenstein is an Editorial Board Member of Gestalt Theory and of Journal of Integrated Social Sciences; his publications concern neuroscience (audition, proprioception, vision), its ergonomic applications (endoscopic systems, perception-action compatibility, virtual depth), and theoretical (Gestalt) accounts.
