Jean Hucher (Latinized: Joannes Hucherus) 1538-1603

After Rondelet's death in 1566 botany at Montpellier was taught by:
Antonius Saporta (1566-1573)
Joubertus http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laurent_Joubert (1573-1583) Joubert was a student of Giovanni Argenterio (1513-1572) of Castelnuovo in Piedmont
Joannes Hucherus (or Jean Hucher) (1583-1603)
So at the time that Richer de Belleval matriculated at Montpellier (1584) it appears that botany was actually taught by Hucherus. Jean Hucher (1541-1603) was a student of Rondelet himself, but was awarded his MD May 18, 1567

Furthermore, Andreas Laurentius (André Dulaurens http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9_Dulaurens ) taught anatomy at Montpellier starting 1583, as successor of Joubert. Laurentius was chancellor at Montpellier at the time Belleval was appointed
So there are 2 possible lines of succession:
Rondelet - Hucherus - Belleval
Argenterio - Joubert - Dulaurens - Belleval
