Bio:

My lab studies neuron-glial interactions (NGIs) and address the fundamental question of how brain circuits shape cognitive processing and vice versa. We use various tools at the crossroads of physics, mathematics, engineering, molecular biology, and bioinformatics to bridge the structure vs. function of NGIs across multiple scales of brain operation--from intracellular signaling to microcircuits and from large neuron-glial networks to behavior. We are particularly interested in harnessing NGIs for diagnosis and intervention in neurodegenerative disorders, mining multi-variate data sets from clinicians, geneticists and biologists, using computational models of NGIs, and engineering new technology to study NGIs in humans.
