Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Windsor in 1975
Since 1976, he has lived and worked in Hamilton. For seventeen years he was one of the leaders of the Acquired Brain Injury Program at Chedoke McMaster Hospitals and assisted in the development of brain injury services across the Province. In 1992, Dr. Finlayson received the Gordon Snider Memorial Award in recognition of this work. During that time, he was also a Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at McMaster University.
Since March of 1998, Dr. Finlayson has been engaged in independent practice, continuing to help people with psychological problems arising from rehabilitation and health related issues.
