He also serves as director of clinical training, a post he formerly held at the Pennsylvania State University, where he was on the psychology faculty for 17 years. He had previously held positions at Ohio State University, and as director of the Des Moines (Iowa) Child Guidance Center. His Master's degree in psychology was from Duke University, and his Ph.D. from Ohio State. Dr. Snyder's principal teaching and research interest has been in the area of psychotherapy, which is understandable, since he was one of Carl Rogers' first doctoral students.
