Bio:

Dr. Tilman Franke studied biology at the Free University of Berlin, Germany. In Prof. Randolf Menzel’s workgroup in the institute for neurobiology he obtained his PhD. For his thesis with the title “In Vivo 2-Photon Calcium Imaging Of Olfactory Interneurons In The Honeybee Antennal Lobe” he developed a multiphoton microscope system dedicated to imaging with minimal light levels. He was then employed as an application engineer at Toptica Photonics AG, Graefelfing, Germany, with the aim to assess the applicability of novel laser systems for non-linear microscopy. In 2011 he started his current position as product manager for two-photon microscopy at TILL Photonics GmbH – an FEI company.
