Bio:

Dr. Friel has extensive experience in maternal fetal medicine, with particular focus on maternal medical conditions and prenatal diagnosis.

She joined the division of Maternal Fetal Medicine in the department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UTHealth Medical School in 2009, and now is an integral part of the Texas Fetal Center. Her expertise in caring for mothers with high-risk pregnancies and fetuses with congenital anomalies and genetic conditions greatly contributes to the world-class care provided by the center.

She is an associate member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Dr. Friel also is a member of the Professional Liability Committee in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UTHealth Medical School.
