Bio:

Elizabeth Delery, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of microbiology and immunology at Marian University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology with a pre-med concentration from Randolph College (Lynchburg, VA). Dr. Delery continued her education at Tulane University School of Medicine (New Orleans, LA) where she earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in microbiology and immunology. She completed her dissertation entitled, “Choroid Plexus in AIDS Pathogenesis” in 2019 under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew MacLean at Tulane National Primate Research Center. She was selected for a T32 postdoctoral fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (New Orleans, LA) under the guidance of Drs. Scott Edwards and Patricia Molina where she examined a variety of projects including vasopressin signaling in alcohol-use disorder, neuroinflammation in traumatic brain injuries, and co-morbidities associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection that led to more serious clinical outcomes.

Dr. Delery’s primary research area is neuroimmunology, specifically how the blood-CSF barrier responds to various immunological challenges.
