"Paolo Nichelli"

Paolo F. Nichelli is Full Professor of Neurology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Clinical Director of the Neurological Department at the Sant'Agostino-Estense Modena Hospital. He graduated in Medicine at the University of Milan in 1973 (supervisor prof. Ennio De Renzi). In 1974 he was appointed medical assistant of the Neurology Department of the Modena Hospital. From 1977 to 1986 he was Assistant Professor and from 1986 to 2001 Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Modena. In 1986, he was appointed Full Professor of Neurology and
In 1992 and in 1993 he was "Visiting Scientist" at the Cognitive Neuroscience Section (chief: dr. Jordan Grafman), NINDS, N.I.H., Bethedsa, MD (USA).
From the very beginning his research was focused on clinical and experimental neuropsychology. While in the United States he became interested in functional neuroimaging techniques, including Positron Emission Tomography and Functional Magnetic Resonance. He has published more than 200 papers and chapters, mostly on peer reviewed scientific journals (Re: Web of Science).
