"Kostov received his PhD in neuroscience from the U of A in 1995 and was appointed to a tenure-track position with the university-including a cross-appointment with the Department of Biomedical Engineering-last January. In 1998 he won the Canadian Innovation in Information Technology Award for his work in brain-computer interface technology, which allows people with severe disabilities to manipulate a computer through brainwaves."
