Vernon Fischer, Ph.D., 1923-2010
Vernon W. Fischer, Ph.D., a retired long-time professor of anatomy and neurobiology and pathology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, passed away on Feb. 2 from long-term illness stemming from a stroke. He was 86.

Fischer's research included the study of blood vessels in the brains of deceased Alzheimer's patients, the effects that various drugs have on the blood vessels in the heart, and the effects of diabetes on the heart.
