Larry W. McDonald came to Chicago from California for his medical training, and returned 21 years later as a neuropathologist and teacher.
After retiring from full-time work in 1994, Dr. McDonald remained a part-time neuropathologist, continuing to teach and mentor medical residents until May 2008, when declining health forced him to step back.
"He loved teaching, and he loved working with the medical residents," said Dorothy, his wife of 53 years.
