Dr. Rebecca Grier is a Human Factors Psychologist with extensive experience working to improve Human Computer Interaction in military, intelligence, and commercial systems. She has conducted hundreds of human factors tests and evaluations in both the field and the laboratory. Currently she is a Research Staff Member at the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) in the Science and Technology Division.

Prior to joining IDA, Dr. Grier was the acting Technical Warrant Holder for Displays and Controls and the Human Systems Integration (HSI) lead for Aegis Modernization at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). She was she was also the Lead Scientist for the Human Automation Interaction and Interface Design Team at Aptima, Inc. In this role she managed and led the work-centered development of a variety of military and intelligence software applications. Dr. Grier has also worked for NSWC Dahlgren, where she developed a plan to educate NAVSEA engineers about HSI, and SBC Labs (now AT&T Labs) designing and evaluating tools for customers and employees.

Dr. Grier holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Human Factors/ Experimental Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and a B.S. Honors in Psychology from Loyola University, Chicago.
