Dr. Poorna Kushalnagar directs the Center for Deaf Health Equity at Gallaudet University. She is the principal investigator of grants funded by extramural grants that total close to $10 million dollars. These grants support studies aligned with her primary research interests in: (1) generic- and deaf-specific quality of life outcomes; (2) adaptation and standardization of PROMIS-Deaf profile for deaf/hh adults; (3) trends of Internet usage for cancer health-related purposes; and (4) applied interventions to improve cancer screening adherence among deaf/deafblind/hh people across the lifespan.
