I am interested in genes and neural circuits involved in human neurodevelopment disorders. My ongoing research is to understand how pleasure and aversion are encoded in neural circuitries. I have a particular interest in role of monoamines and their network effects on reward neural circuit. I employ optogenetic, molecular, neurogenetic, and imaging tools to select and manipulate specific neural circuits and study impact on animal behavior.
