Bio:

Richard Garratt graduated in Medical Sciences and Biochemistry at the University of London and then obtained a M.Sc. (1984) and a Ph.D (1989) in Crystallography, also at the University of London, under the supervision of Janet Thornton and Peter Francis Lindley. He is currently a full professor at Universidade de São Paulo (São Carlos, Brazil), applying protein crystallography and molecular modeling to the study of septins, superoxide dismutases and purine salvage pathways.
