Achim Karl Heinrich Wessing (* 14 December 1933 in Gladbeck) is a German ophthalmologist, university lecturer and researcher. Until his retirement in 1996, he was Director of the Eye Clinic at the University Hospital Essen and was one of the world's leading physicians in the field of retinological ophthalmology, where he is regarded as a pioneer of fluorescence angiography.
