Bio:

(ca. 1427-1491)
Pietro Roccabonella Veneziano (Rocabonella, Rocabonela, lat: Petrus Rochabonellus) was a well known professor of Medicine in Padua.
Pietro Roccabonella was born in Venice, probably in the first third of the fifteenth century, to Agnese Bondina, from a well-known Venetian family dedicated to trade, and Ludovico Roccabonella di Conegliano. In the house of Roccabonella it was almost traditional to practice medicine: in fact, Ludovico, the grandfather, Nicolò, and the great-grandfather Ludovico were also doctors; Niccolò indeed, a physician from Conegliano, had about 1415 with Ludovico Riccio helped the latter's son, Benedetto Riccio, in composing the precious "liber de simplicibus", and Ludovico, father of Pietro, practiced medicine in Padua to his benefit and good reputation for over forty years.
