Bio:

Dr. Yina Ma is currently the director of Social & Affective NeuroPharmacology (SANP) Lab and Principle Investigator in State Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning, and IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research, Beijing Normal University. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Cognitive Neuroscience at Peking University in 2012, and was a Research Scientist at Dartmouth College and Johns Hopkins University from 2012 to 2015. Her research interests lie broadly in human emotion and social cognition. Integrating neuroscience techniques (functional MRI, EEG, fNIRS), genetics, pharmacological challenge and disorder model, she aims to elucidate the neurobiological mechanisms underlying social and emotional processes and to reveal how the mechanisms are altered. These findings have been published on high-profile journals such as Molecular Psychiatry, Brain, Trends in Cognitive Sciences, Cerebral Cortex, Neuropsychopharmacology, British Journal of Psychiatry, Neuroimage, Human Brain Mapping, JEP, JESP etc. The long-term goals of the SANP Lab are to uncover the central neurobiological determinants of human emotion and social cognition, and to then integrate its empirical findings with public mental health issues to promote treatment for mental disorders and wellbeing.
