DOI: 10.1002/yea.1572 James Frederic Danielli (1911–1984), English biophysicist, studied chemistry at University College London and from 1938 worked in the Biochemistry Department at Cambridge, where Peter Mitchell was his research student; in 1949 Danielli became professor of zoology at King's College, London University, and moved to the University of Buffalo, USA, in 1962. As well as working on cell membranes and transplanting nuclei from one cell to another, he developed quantitative methods in cell chemistry
