My works originally investigated neurovascular coupling between neuronal activity and changes in cerebral blood flow. My thesis was with Dr. John Detre. During residency I concentrated on clinical applications of fMRI. I did a post doc concentrating on calibrated BOLD and the relationships between BOLD and CBF (using ASL). As my career has developed I have continued my research in applications of neuroimaging biomarkers to disease states including Alzheimer's disease, neuroHIV, CJD, and paraneoplastic disorders.
