"Axel Blau "Bio:
Axel Blau is team leader for neuromimetic architectures for information processing and biosensing devices at IIT. He holds a diploma (1995) and a PhD (1999) degree in physical chemistry both from the University of Tuebingen, Germany. From 1999 to 2001 he was a postdoctoral scholar in neurobiology at the California Institute of Technology focusing on optical recording techniques. Between 2002 and 2007 he held an assistant professorship in physics at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany.
