Melissa Polonenko is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at the University of Minnesota. Previously she was a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Neuroscience and Center for Visual Sciences at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She earned her PhD in Medical Science and Neuroscience from the University of Toronto, and her MClSc in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Audiology) and BMSc in Physiology and Scholar's Electives from Western University. She is also a licensed and certified Audiologist, and worked full-time as a clinical audiologist for Alberta Health Services.
