Bachelor's at Educação Física from Universidade Federal de Goiás (1994), bachelor's at Engenharia Elétrica from Universidade Federal de Goiás (1984), master's at Electric Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo (1995) and doctorate at Electric Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo (2001). He is currently full professor at Universidade Federal de Goiás. Has experience in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on Bioengineering, acting on the following subjects: biomecânica, modelagem matemática, motoneurônio, educação física and aprendizagem motora.
