Tamara Dembo (1902-1993). Completed PhD under Kurt Lewin at University of Berlin.
Tamara Dembo worked to establish the field of Rehabilitation Psychology through the formation of Division 22 of the American Psychological Association. From 1968-69, she served as president of the Division. In 1980, she was honored for her pioneering work in the field, with the Distinguished Service Award from Division 22. In 1981, she received the Kurt Lewin Memorial Award sponsored by Division 9 of APA.
