On page 485 it says explicitly that Theodor Zwinger was his main teacher in Basel, and that he was also tutored by Niklaus Eglinger. On the next page it says that after he earned his degree in Basel he went to Paris, where he studied under Johan de Jussieu and Joseph (?) Vaillant, who were the successors of Joseph Pitton Tournefort. Also mentioned are Duverney, and several others
