Bio:

Linda Spencer was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, but grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota. She attended the University of Iowa for her BS and MA degrees in Speech and hearing science and then Speech Pathology and Audiology. She then practiced in Idaho and Wisconsin becoming a research assistant for an NIH NIDCD cochlear implant project at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in 1993. She eventually earned her Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science at the U of I. She has over 40 publications where she is a first author or co-author. Topics include speech, language, literacy or cognitive development in individuals with hearing loss.
